Blog Entry: T-shirt transfer paper (sometimes called Heat Transfer Paper ) is a well-known product used by many different users. Elementary school students, sports associations, hens and bachelor party organizers have used transfer paper at some point in history to create personalized T-shirts (and other outfits) for specific occasions or to make souvenirs for important events. However, thermal transfer paper can be used for a wider range of applications, and those who want to create special items on surfaces that are not easily fed by inkjet printers often don't consider using them. Thermal transfer paper is designed to print an image thereon using ordinary ink using a common inkjet printer, and allows a user to transfer it to a substantially porous surface by heat treatment, thereby causing a carrier film to adhere thereto. Print in mirror mode (the image is displayed facing forward when the image is viewed from the back before transfer). Place the image face down on the substrate and heat and press with a household iron or a professional heat press. No special skills or equipment required. General guidelines for using transfer paper: Heat-Transfer paper relies on enough heat to apply heat to separate the image from the paper and move it to the substrate. Household irons with a minimum of 1400w and above are most suitable for home use. (Don't use Steam) Stress-The more, the better (but don't hurt yourself or your device). Pressure is a parameter that ensures that the image is not only transferred but that it remains there permanently. Surface-needs to be strong and sturdy. A work top lined with another T-shirt is great, ironing boards are forbidden! Flat substrate-T-shirts are flat so there is no problem, but if you are printing other items, make sure they are flat and free of creases. Keep in mind that the iron or heat press is very flat and any dents on the substrate will not receive heat and pressure to transfer. Remember, these are not instructions on how to use the product. When purchasing paper, complete instructions will be provided. So exercise your creativity when thinking about what you can do with this powerful product. As long as the surface to be printed is heat-resistant, absorbent and flat, transfer paper will allow you to transfer images generated on computers and home printers to a variety of materials. Your imagination is your only limit.
