Despite all the problems with the organisation of Brighton Pride it went ahead and attracted record crowds. It was estimated that 160,000 people were in town and just taking one look at the crowds lining the parade route it was easy to understand.

Brighton Naked Bike Ride 2009

It is that time of the year when cyclists throw off their clothes with gay abandon and take to the streets of Brighton once again. This year around 700 cyclists shed their clothes to cycle naked through the sea side town to highlight the damage caused to the planet by car dependency.

It is understood that the Queen is keen to meet President Obama. He will be invited to Buckingham Palace when he arrives in UK for the G20 meeting in April. This is a highly unusual meeting as the President is not on an official visit to the UK.
